Lakehead University Pre-Departure / Pre-Arrival / Airport Pickup and Housing Information for Sep 2016 Intake.

We understand that you have a lot of questions before you leave India, and we’re here to help!

Please note the following:

Our required International Student Orientation will be held on Wednesday August 31st, so please plan your arrival no later than Monday August 29th.

Payment Due Dates

August 15, 2016

Undergraduate Students pay in FULL, or the First instalment of 2016FW.  Graduate and Part Time students pay for the Fall 2016 Term in Full.

December 15, 2016

All remaining balances due for Undergraduate and Graduate students.

For example: Undergraduate Full Time students pay their second instalment, Part time Undergraduate students pay in full for Winter 2017 courses, and Graduate Students pay the Winter 2017 Term Fee.

We do help students with the free airport pick up’s and usualy set up a booth at the airport just before the orientation.

Also, All the details about the accommodation, Orientation and other useful stuff for the smooth transition of the students usually goes out to students via mail as soon as they accept the offer letter and pay the confirmation deposits.

Our required International Student Orientation will be held on Wednesday August 31st, so please plan your arrival no later than Monday August 29th.  If you would like our free airport pick up service, it will be offered between August 21st- September 5th.
You must sign up by completing the attached pre-arrival form and email it  along with your flight itinerary.

PLEASE NOTE: International students can move in early to Campus Residence any time from August 21st onward.  There will be a very low daily rate for the days you arrive early, until the official move in day of September 2nd.  So please be aware that you can arrive early!

  1. Pre-Arrival/ Airport Pickup Form

We need to know when you are arriving, please complete this form and email it back to  If you let us know ahead of time when you are arriving, we can provide you a Free airport pick up service to take you to your chosen accommodations.  You must also attach your flight itinerary so we are able to track your flight and accommodate for delays or cancellations.

Once you have chosen your accommodations, please indicate on the form your chosen option and email the form to  If you are interested in on campus residence (recommended), HERE is the link to our residence website.  HERE is the link to apply online.
If you choose off campus housing, it is your responsibility to secure your accommodations, but you can email me with any questions you may have or to request assistance for popular links to rentals in Thunder Bay.

*For English Language Students-  If you are interested in Home Stay, spots are very limited so please email Jennifer Veal, Home Stay Coordinator for an application and information.

    By completing this form you are allowing Lakehead International to post pictures that you may be part of at our student events. These may be used on our website, Facebook or Twitter.  The Form is voluntary, so if you would rather no photos of you be posted anywhere please let us know that you will not be signing the form.
