Singapore universities are taking great initiatives to make sure that employment ready students pass out from them.
One of such universities is Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) which has launched study and work simultaneously programs for students. Through work the students can get adequate sponsorship for their study courses. The name of this program is Skills Future Work-Study Degree and it’s available for different subjects like software engineering, civil engineering, hospitality and electrical power engineering. The university has tie-ups with 12 different companies (private and public) like Accenture, Standard Chartered Bank, which offer employment to such students. Students who are part of internships in such programmes can work for 4 days in a week ad study for 2 days. Upon finishing graduation, students who are hired as contractual employees during their graduation can be taken on company payrolls as full-time employees.
Another university which is offering such program is National University of Singapore. It is offering programs in computing of smaller duration of 6 months to 1 and a half years and students can also pursue internships during them.
